The triplets saw the doc for the first time since they were born (way late, but too complicated to explain). The babies are doing excellent. They all weigh 13 lbs. Emilia’s in the 80th percentile for weight, and 50th for height. The twin boys are in the 60th percentile for weight, and 40th for height. When we brought them home, they were all in the 5th percentile, so they’ve improved beyond all expectations!! This week I’ve been working especially hard to help the babies sleep through the night. It’s one of the biggest goals of MOMs. The babies currently live…

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today was just like any other Saturday for me. I got up, walked my dog Diego, and worked on a web development project for a client. After the day’s tasks were complete, I nervously got ready for a first date. I don’t usually get nervous about meeting new people, but this seemed different to me. Little did I know that I was about to meet my wife, and that we’d be married and parents of triplets in less than a year. Esther eventually called to say she had arrived at my apartment, so I went downstairs to…

Stats (these are approximations): $200.00 per month in diapers; $500.00 per month in formula; $1000 – $2000 per month in help; 1 load of baby-specific laundry per day; $4,000.00 in out-of-pocket hospital bills. To break it down further: 3-5 hours of nanny help per day; 25 bottles per day; 35 diapers per day; 3 baths per day; 6 outfits per day; hundreds of smiles per day. When I read stats like these, I didn’t believe them. But it’s true. Thank God people donate clothes/toys/ect…I still need clothes after the age of 9 months. I’m taking donations until they’re old enough…

The photos page has undergone a bit of a layout change. You’ll now see a list of albums with various photo galleries inside it. Click on a gallery to view all the photos for that gallery. Simple, eh? This change now allows us to post more pics and maintain a better level of organization. We also posted some new photos from the last couple of months to celebrate the grand re-opening of the photos page. As you can see, everyone is doing well and the triplets are healthy and growing fast! We’ll continue to post new photos when we get…

After 2 months of total confusion and exhaustion over all the methods, I’m getting a handle on things. I can now say the babies are less fussy. We feed them every 3 hours, except after the 7pm feeding. Having a schedule allows the babies to know what’s coming. We follow an eat/play/nap routine. Everyone eats, plays (sits in bouncies, gets rocked, or the play gym), and then goes down for naps at the same time. Naps are the hardest, and crying ensues, but it’s getting better. It was very hard to implement, but necessary for my sanity and theirs! We…

For my husband and me, these are the most trying times of our lives, and therefore the relationship (we’re still honeymooners!). We’ve spat back and forth from frustrations of the moment, but no serious issues have arisen. We’re blessed, and our relationship is stronger than ever. I’m a very, very lucky woman! He always helps when I need it, and works incredibly hard to support us. If there were an award for best father-of-triplets, he’d win it. I say this after we spent the weekend alone with the triplets for the very first time. It was SO HARD and completely…
