2 weeks

Keeping the blog going has been a big decision for me. I felt comfortable blogging about my pregnancy, but less so when it comes to blogging about the babies. I’m not sure if it’s fair to them that I let the world in on their lives. I’ve decided to continue, but minimize the details of the triplets’ lives, and focus more on the task of raising them. During the early stages of life, weight gain is top priority. We feed every three hours, and try to stick to the schedule unless one seems especially hungry, which happens frequently enough.  We…

Triplets on KUSI News

Our triplets were featured on KUSI News (San Diego) the night they were born. Thank you to KUSI for doing that! It was fun to watch it while we were in the hospital. Really brightened our day… Thank you to our friend Jennie for recording this for us!

The Birth Story

It’s taken me several days to write this. We keep remarking on how “easy” it would be if we only had one baby! Between me, my mom and Jason, the three of us have never been more sleep-deprived in our lives. We find ourselves taking care of each other; Jason and I insist my mom eats and then sleeps after staying up all night and most of the day; mom and Jason push me to drink water and go back to bed when I get up in the middle of the night to pump and feed; I purposefully leave Jason…

Day 2 Update

First of all, thank you all very much for the tweets, emails, Facebook messages, and blog comments sent in over the last couple of days. They all mean so much to us during this hectic period of transition. They’ve brightened Esther’s day while she struggles a bit to recover from her c-section. Having 17+ lbs. of baby removed from your body after 37 weeks and 2 days of gestation obviously takes its toll. Emilia, William, and Jackson are doing great. The doctors and nurses say they look perfect and have passed all their tests. They also keep telling us the…

Triplets’ Arrival (Info & Pictures)

The triplets are here! They were born via c-section on June 10th, 2011 at approximately 12PM Pacific. Everyone is doing just fine. William Jeffrey (Identical Baby A): 5 lbs. 8 oz. Jackson Martin (Identical Baby B): 5 lbs. 10 oz. Emilia Olive (Fraternal Baby C) : 5 lbs. 10 oz. We’ve posted a few pictures from the day in our photo gallery. You can check them out by…

Week 37

I’m entering my 38th week of pregnancy, a.k.a., my final week of pregnancy.  Even though we’ve made it to the 38th week, we’re not guaranteed the babies will be healthy and able to avoid the NICU. That’s something we’ll find out after they are born. Still, the odds are in our favor that all babies will come home with us.The c-section is just days away, on Friday, the 10th of June at 9am. Again, I discussed the steroid shot with doc. It’s a tough decision, but I decided to opt out of it. We’re risking a 5% chance of the…
